Who We Are

Julia Brice is a child and parenting specialist who heads a team of highly trained professionals that specialize in supervised visitation, parenting time support services, and parent coaching. Although she is not currently a licensed social worker, Ms. Brice has been engaged in social service work with families since 1986. She has helped people of all ages and walks of life cope with crisis, life transitions, and everyday challenges. She has worked through community, government, and private non‐profit agencies as a child protective worker, battered women’s advocate, preschool teacher, and parenting instructor and coach.

In 1994, after being featured in the Boston Globe for her work in the field of supervised visitation, Julia co‐founded Children’s Supervised Visitations, a nonprofit center located in Marlboro. In creating CSV, Ms. Brice’s intention was to provide a safe, supervised environment in which children exposed to abuse or neglect could have safe interactions with family members. As executive director of CSV, she managed thousands of safe supervised visits between parents and children and oversaw the internship program for graduate students, which provided training and mentoring for future visitation specialists.

The success of CSV led to the development of the Massachusetts Coalition of Supervised Visitation, of which Ms. Brice was a co‐founder and board member. As a member of the MCSU, Ms. Brice worked with former Chief Justice Dunphy to establish practice standards for visitation supervisors. She also successfully lobbied for state funding for supervised visitation programs and was instrumental in developing RFPs for such programs, and helped to create and implement a federally funded program under the Safe Havens Act.

Along with being a strong advocate for safe & accessible visitation, Ms. Brice is a strong supporter of parent education classes. Ms. Brice is a member of the Assabet Valley Family Network, where she has developed a comprehensive group of parenting courses and provided systematic training for effective parenting for more than sixteen years. Ms. Brice also teaches the same classes for families involved through Framingham DCF.

After working through non‐profit organizations for twenty years, Ms. Brice, through Fair Play Parenting Education, now provides private supervised visitation services, parenting education and coaching, professional training, lectures, and mentoring geared to promoting best practices in the provision of supervised visitation services.
